Ashford-in-the-Water has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I attended the original village primary school before the current building was developed, and many of my childhood memories were made here. It's a village I've always felt connected to, not just because of its beauty, but because of the people and the sense of community that has always existed here. Cricket has been a huge part of that connection. My dad played for Ashford Cricket Club, I started my own cricket journey here as a youngster, and many years later I returned to finish my playing career at the club. I also had the privilege of captaining the team, creating friendships and memories that will stay with me for life. Those experiences gave me a real appreciation for what makes Ashford-in-the-Water such a special place to live. Whenever I visit the village today, it still feels familiar.
