Hathersage has always been one of my favourite villages in the Peak District. Whenever I visit, I'm reminded why it's such a popular place to live. It has a fantastic atmosphere, with independent shops, welcoming cafés and traditional pubs sitting alongside some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in the National Park. What really sets Hathersage apart for me is the balance it offers.

Within minutes you can be walking across Stanage Edge, exploring Padley Gorge or taking in the views from Surprise View, yet you're never far from the village centre with everything you need close at hand. Add in the railway station and easy access to Sheffield, and it's easy to understand why so many people choose to call Hathersage home.
